"Bright, medium yellow-gold with depth and a slightly green hue, even colour throughout. The nose is softly rich and voluminous, complexing aromas of orange blossoms, white florals, along with lime and orange marmalade; interweaved with developed flavours of mead, beeswax, ginger, flint and petrol notes. The aromas are concentrated with good intensity and lively. Off-dry to taste, medium-bodied, the palate is full of vibrant flavours of orange, lime, along with delicate floral detail; integrated with honey, marmalade, beeswax, flint, lingers to a long and dry finish with detail of ginger and nutmeg spices. The age has softened the mouthwatering acidity, which balances the sugar sweetness, providing the backbone structure of the wine; flows with good energy as well as delivering freshness, alongside complexing developed flavours of mead, flint and spices, brings to long and complex linearity. This is a complex and developed Riesling with freshness and excellent balance, still time ahead."
"This ‘Aged Release’ wine presents a significant opportunity for Riesling fans to see and taste how a well regarded producer captures the essence of the variety and how bottle age suits Riesling so very well. Aromas preserved lemon, toasty bottled aged lime, honey, a whisper of chamomile tea and citrus along with a core of minerality. Complex and quite compelling. On the palate – off dry, toasty, drying citrus and yellow orchard fruit flavours, more chamomile tea, honey moments then apple. The acidity remains strong keeping the wine fresh adding texture and length. Ultimately the wine finishes dry and with complexity. A delicious example and one to invest in any remaining bottles. Best drinking from today and through 2022+." Cameron Douglas MS
“Last tasted seven years ago. Golden colour.Tangy and still very much alive with honey, peach, lime and a thread of saline and oystershell character. A serious riesling that is probably as good as it's going to get, but should continue to give pleasure for at least another decade.” Bob Campbell MW
