Red Buy of the Year
Metala Langhorne Creek 2008 Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon
Primo Vino Red Wine Buy of the Year (to date, but can't see anything getting close)
Our last supplies flew out the door. This consignment is straight off the boat.
Big, rich, full, dense, striking from the first mouthful. Powerful and lush, loaded with dark berryfruit, chocolate and lashings of quality oak. Its 15% alcohol pales into insignificance against its backdrop of power, class and style, intense fruit flavours, vanillin-like oak and smooth tannins. A blend of 72% Shiraz and 28% Cabernet Sauvignon. Fantastic now and over the next 5+ years. Yes it sounds as if we're describing a wine worth twice the money or more. Taste it and you'll know why.

5 Stars Winestate
"This is a weighty, rich and rounded wine with sweet-fruit delights, deep gooseberry and lime flavours, a slightly minerally streak and the 'tomato stalk' characters typical of the Awatere. Notably concentrated, it's priced sharply." Michael Cooper

Intense black cherry fruit, hints of spice, chocolate and coffee. Full and rich. If the critics said the first one would embarrass many of our top labels then this one will have them weeping into their wine barrels. Huge potential to age: yummy now.

Pick me
Whitehaven 2009 Marlborough Riesling
Almost forgotten in the Whitehaven range. Tasting the 2009 we thought wow; so did Cameron Douglas MS (Master Sommelier) in Thirst, he said..
"Nose: White flowers, pear and golden delicious apple are the first suggestions; stone and chalk mineral undertones follow. Palate: Dry, but immediately very fruity with a light fruit sugar lift, apple flavours and an emerging lemon and grapefruit-citrus flavours then ensue. Light bodied, crisp and tasty."
It is excellent, leaning toward dry with a great mineral streak that adds complexity and class.
